Sweet P is 11! Can't believe we're already in the second year of double-digits! Here's how our 11-year old birthday girl celebrated . . .

Cake Pops

Paige had a friends birthday party this year (more on that later). She always gets to pick her birthday sweet treat, and this year she opted for cake pops! She researched a recipe and off we went. We decided to "dry run" the cake pops with our neighbors ahead of the friends party. Good thing we did because - in spite of them being a sweet, tasty treat - about 1/3 of them plopped off their sticks! Too labor intensive, but glad we tried :)

The Big Day

Paige's birthday was book-ended up little family gifts and cards. The smiles below show it all - she was one happy girl :)

Oodie-licious

Paige's big birthday gift was an Oodie. They're a big deal down here in ANZ and she's wanted one for the better part of two years. But we've resisted getting one. Until now. They're basically a super soft, cozy, ridiculously over-sized blanket. They come in only two sizes - kids and adults. Being over-sized is part of their charm so we went for the real deal for Paige. (Quick side note: Sadie wanted an Oodie too, so economies of scale won out and she got one at the same time also, but kids size for her). Paige opted for a corgi dog one; Sadie a solid grey. The Oodie is so insanely big on Paige it's comical. But as you can see in the pictures & videos, she was absolutely elated. Fashion shows ensued :) Both Paige & Sadie have worn their Oodies for almost every waking (non-school) hour since, so it's already been worth it! A huge birthday hit!

Friends Party at The Playground

Paige really wanted a birthday party with her friends. Our only stipulation was that it had to be outside (= Covid-friendly). We booked in at a spot about 10 minutes up the road called The Playground. They have a range of outdoor activities; Paige chose the ropes course. Paige invited 7 friends (miraculously all could make it, which was awesome!) and Sadie brought one friend (Frieda) along. Ten girls in total and they had a blast :)

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves . . . ropes course challenges & fun (girls sweetly encouraging each other), BBQ lunch (burgers & sausages), gifts galore (biggest hit was a lava lamp!), birthday cake (baked by Paige all on her own, each girl picked out a candle & placed it on the cake for Paige). It's near impossible to get one photo of 8 11-year olds all looking/smiling at the camera! Especially on a sunny day!

The fab 11th birthday crew, from top-left to bottom-right: Kyla, Amy, Paige, Iris, Lilly, Rose, Charlee and Phoebe :)

That is one happy 11-year birthday girl!!

Paige quote:

"I loved all my gifts including my b-day party and am so grateful"
